ADOPTION

AWARENESS MONTH

DIVERSITY IN ADOPTIVE FAMILIES

In the Adoptive world we see all kinds of different family make ups. The openness to love a child that needs a home, brings many different kinds of families together. This section will look at both the benefits and challenges these families and their children face. The more we understand the more we can support families. Diversity encompasses many types of families. The first being special needs, that will not be addressed in this section, as most adoptions are special needs, so that will be reflected throughout the other sections this month.
We will look at

  • Transracial Adoption

  • LBGTQ2+ Adoption

  • Single parent Adoption.

We know we will not capture every element, but we try to provide great information to help families and to support families.
