🖥️Holding On While They Grow
Parenting Teens with Trauma and Attachment Challenges
Webinar - English
Who it’s for
Adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers, as well as professionals supporting children and youth.
What to expect
Parenting teenagers can feel overwhelming, especially when a young person’s history includes developmental trauma, attachment insecurity, or loss. As teens grow and old wounds resurface in new ways, parents may feel uncertain about how to stay connected and respond with confidence.
This webinar offers insight, reassurance, and practical guidance to help caregivers better understand their teen’s unique needs during this stage. Participants will explore how trauma and brain development shape behaviour and emotional regulation, and learn ways to strengthen attachment while also caring for their own well-being.
Led by Andrea Chatwin, an experienced clinician and adoptive parent, this session blends professional expertise with lived experience to support parents in staying grounded, compassionate, and connected through the challenges of adolescence.
